Where We Began
The Testing Lab PLC (TTL) originated as the dedicated testing division of Asbestos Surveyors UK Ltd, founded in 2009 and later renamed Assisi Environmental Services Ltd in 2011. Initially created to deliver specialist asbestos and environmental testing services for AS UK, TTL quickly developed a strong reputation in its own right and was incorporated as a separate entity in 2010. Today, The Testing Lab PLC has significantly outgrown its original parent company, evolving into a leading UK provider of accredited asbestos, geotechnical, legionella and water management testing services, with a distinct brand and nationwide presence.
What We Do
Today, TTL manages all activities under one roof, including two in-house, purpose-built laboratories for asbestos and geotechnical testing.
We are accredited to UKAS ISO/IEC 17020 and ISO/IEC 17025 for asbestos and geotechnical testing and inspection (No. 7758), and we are also LCA registered for water management and legionella risk assessments.
Our services support a wide range of clients, including the Ministry of Defence, healthcare providers, educational institutions, local authorities, housing associations and many others.
From asbestos surveys to legionella risk assessments, our teams of technical site staff are strategically located throughout the UK and coordinated via our National Control Centre in Doncaster, South Yorkshire.

TTL have been working directly as my analyst for the last 12 months on a very complex asbestos removal scheme, they have achieved all of their KPI’s without fail and on a number of occasions surpassed their SLA in acting for us on planning issues associated with the demolition in regard to contamination which cannot be removed as part of the normal sequence of operation.
