Water is something we all take for granted. We believe that the local water company is responsible for the condition of our water. If we see a water tap or fountain, we all assume that we can drink the water without concern. We pass water features, hot tubs and pools without a thought. In buildings we use the ablutions freely and turn taps on to wash our hands after use. To remain hygienic kitchen staff, use taps to wash hands and instruments.

BUT IS IT REALLY SAFE?

Yes, the water authorities are duty bound to supply clean, safe water to every building that needs it but that’s as far as they go. The authorities are only responsible for the water supply to the boundary but today they tend to take responsibility all the way to the stop tap BUT they have absolutely no responsibility for the water within the premises. That responsibility lies legally with The Duty holder who is normally at the top of the chain of command within the occupier’s organisation.

The Testing Lab PLC are LCA compliant and conduct Legionella Risk Assessments, Water Monitoring and Compliance Checks nationwide; on domestic, commercial, and industrial buildings.
